My name is Mrs Nina O (not real name). My husband got me a househelp
(19yrs female) from this northern state last month to help me with some
house work and also take care of our little baby.
When they brought the girl to me, my husband was not at home.
So I got to interview the girl and she told me where she is from and the
amount she said she would be paid.
When I asked her who said we would pay her that amount, she said it was
my husband, that she has already seen him before they brought her to
the house.
I was not too surprised.
But when my husband came back, I introduced the girl to him and he
pretended like he has never seen her before.
So after like 2 days, I asked him how much the girl was to be paid. The
amount he told me was different from what the girl told me.
To cut the story short, my husband actually told me I had no business in
knowing how much he would be paying the girl since it is not my money.
I later found out that he doesn't even want me to know anything about
the girl.
That apart, the one that really hurts me most is anytime I scold this girl
and my husband is there, he will always scold me back to the
girl's hearing (there is nothing between them tho).
My problem now is, please help me,
( 1) As the wife of the house, am I not supposed to know anything
about this girl, my househelp since I'm not the one paying
(2) What can I do about all these things happening?
