28 yr old woman uses fake baby bump to smuggle 2 kilos of cocaine »

According
reports by AFP, a Toronto woman who used a fake baby bump to try
to smuggle two kilograms of cocaine was arrested yesterday
September 11th at Bogota airport by Colombian police.
28-year-old Tabitha Leah Ritchie, identified as a social worker, was
stopped while trying to board an Air Canada flight in Bogota, Colombia
after an inspector noticed that her belly was unusually cold and hard.
Airport security discovered a false belly made of latex taped to her
body and they found 2 kilograms of cocaine.

Student Arrested With Cocaine At Enugu International Airport. Is ASUU responsible??

Barely few weeks after the jubilation that greeted the commencement
of international flights at the newly upgraded Akanu Ibiam
International Airport, Enugu; the National Drug Law Enforcement
Agency (NDLEA) has made its first arrest and cocaine seizure. The
suspect, Chizoba Anselem Nwabuwa 32 year-old 400 Levels Fine and
Applied Arts student was apprehended during the inward screening of
passengers on an Ethiopian flight from Brazil enroute Addis-Ababa.
He was found to have ingested liquid cocaine packed inside male
condoms.

The head of the NDLEA at the Enugu Airport, Mr Nsikak-Abasi Udoh
who confirmed the arrest said that the suspect excreted 25 wraps of
a liquid that tested positive for cocaine. “The suspect excreted
twenty-five (25) wraps of liquid substance. When tested with the
United Nations drug testing kit, it tested positive for cocaine weighing
1.250kg. This first arrest and seizure is exciting to us because we just
commenced operations” Nsikak-Abasi stated.
According to the suspect, “I am a 400 level student of Fine & Applied
Arts at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State. I
wanted to use the half a million naira (N500,000) they promised to
pay me in developing my Art Gallery. They assured me in Brazil that
authorities will not be able to detect liquid cocaine, so I was confident.
Unfortunately, things have turned-out the other way. I regret my
involvement in drug trafficking”. Chizoba who is single hails from
Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA Ahmadu Giade expressed
satisfaction with the arrest. In his words, “the Agency accords high
priority attention to all the airports. We shall continue to up-scale our
operations at the airports and prevent drug trafficking syndicates
from using the nation’s airports”.
Giade urged members of the public to pursue legitimate businesses at
all times noting that a good name is far better than ill-gotten wealth.
The suspect will soon be charged to court.

The Barcelona star admits that the France international was a worthy
winner of the one of the continent's most prestigious individual honors.
Barcelona star Lionel Messi has conceded that Bayern Munich ace Franck
Ribery deserved to win UEFA's Best Player in Europe award.
Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were pipped to the award at a UEFA
ceremony in Monaco in August, and the 26-year-old Argentine says
Ribery's treble success with Bayern Munich meant the right man walked
away with the prize.
"It was an honor to be in this race again, among the best three players in
Europe," Messi told UEFA. "There are so many great players in the world,
and it is a real pleasure to be in the competition, but he [Ribery]
deserved to win the trophy."
The Blaugrana were humbled 7-0 on aggregate by the German giants en
route to the Champions League crown last season. While Messi admits that
the defeat left a "bitter taste" in his mouth, he believes the team must
not dwell on the past if it is to bounce back from last year's
disappointment in Europe.
"We always want to achieve more. Winning the league was very important,
because of what it signified – winning it back after Real Madrid had won
it last year," Messi said. "There's also a bitter taste after what
happened in the semifinal against Bayern Munich, where there was a big
gap between the two teams – we didn't go into it in our best shape. But
that's the past and we have to look forward."
The Catalans resume their Liga campaign following the international
break by welcoming Sevilla to Camp Nou on Saturday.
