Bolade area of Oshodi. Don't know which one is accurate but there's one

This photo really got me laughing this morning and i just couldn't resist
sharing with you all. Please answer her question. Is she still a virgin ?

Trader bathed with acid while asleep

For about five months, the Agbaje family of Ifako, Gbagada, Lagos
State, has been battling to find an explanation to the tragedy that has
befallen it.
The family members said while they were seeking a solution to the
tragedy, they had sought the aid of the Ogun State Police Command to
unravel the circumstances surrounding their challenge.
The mother of the house, Mrs. Sherrifat Agbaje was attacked with acid
while she was sleeping on her bed on April 23, 2013.
Sherifat, a fish seller, said she was in a rented apartment in the Ifo
area of Ogun State and was fast asleep when an unknown assailant crept
up to her window in the middle of the night and bathed her with acid.
The mother of six is currently in pains as her face, chest and arms were
severely burned in the attack. She, however, miraculously escaped being
blinded.
Her five-year-old daughter, Kehinde, who was sleeping beside her, was
also lucky as she escaped with a few burns to her back and arms.
Sherifat told PUNCH Metro that it had been her practice for three years
to travel to Ifo. Ogun State, every Monday to sell fish and return home to
her husband at Ifako, Lagos, on Saturdays.
Sherifat said, “There was nothing unusual about that day. Like any
typical day, I went to the market to sell fish. I didn’t sell much because
there was a free-for-all among the area boys. It disrupted our business.
“My eldest daughter, Omowunmi, was, however, able to make more sales by
hawking the fish around the market area. Three of my children were with
me then.”
At the end of the day, Sherifat went back to her apartment in Ifo and
watched the TV with her children until 12am.
She said Kehinde and her twin, Taiwo, had persuaded her to let them
sleep in her bed, but she insisted that they must sleep on the floor.
It was learnt that the room had six windows, which were made with wood.
All the windows were closed on that night except one. It faced Sherifat’s
bed.
She said, “I had slept for about 30 minutes when I felt something hot on
my body. Initially, I thought it was fire and I started screaming.
“My screams woke up Omowunmi. She took one look at my body and
started shouting that somebody had poured something on me. That was
when it dawned on me that my house was not on fire.
“In the process of trying to shake off whatever had been poured on me,
some drops of the acid poured on Kehinde, who had come back to sleep
beside me.”
Sherifat’s neighours came out to find out what the problem was. They
also searched the neighbourhood, but no one was caught in connection with
the incident
In the morning, the case was reported at the Ifo Police Station. Till date,
the mystery had yet to be unraveled by the police.
Her husband, Tunde, told PUNCH Metro that he was alerted to the
incident the same day at 3am.
He said, “It was Omowunmi who called me. At dawn, I set out for Ifo and
met my wife at a catholic hospital where she had been taken to. The
hospital said the burns were serious and transferred her to the General
Hospital, Sango.
“It has been tough for us ever since. I dig boreholes for a living and
without my wife’s support, taking care of our six children has been
difficult. I do not know what would have made someone attack my wife
with acid. To the best of my knowledge, she has no problem with anyone
to warrant any attack.
“Now, my children’s education is on hold. They can no longer attend school.
All our finances are geared towards restoring my wife to normalcy.”
He said some doctors at the general hospital had advised that Sherifat
would require some surgery in India to repair the damage to her body. He
added, “But I don’t have money.”
The Ogun State Police Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed
the incident to our correspondent on the telephone.
He said a suspect had been identified and was wanted in connection with
the attack. He however did not give the identity of the suspect.
He said, “The case is under investigation and efforts are being made to
apprehend him. The Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, has directed
that the suspect should be declared wanted if he fails to turn up.” Below is a picture of of sherifat before she was bathed with the substance.

Ethiopia confirms Oct. 13 for Nigeria match•To face Ghana ahead of clash

Ethiopia has confirmed a definite date for the first leg match against
Nigeria in the final playoff leading to Brazil 2014 World Cup. The first leg
of the World Cup qualifying clash will take place on Sunday, October 13 in
Addis Ababa, their football association officials have confirmed.
All ties will take place between October 11 and October 15 and the
Ethiopia Football Federation has only now confirmed which day the match
will be staged.
“We have played our home games on Sundays and the match against
Nigeria will not be an exception,” commented EFF general secretary
Yigsaw Bezuayehu.
The return match will be held on Saturday, November 16 at the U.J.
Esuene Stadium in Calabar. The Nigerian federation has also retained
Saturday as match day for the Super Eagles and Calabar as the venue
for all the qualifying games.
The Minister of Sports Mr. Bolaji Abdullahi confirmed to The PUNCH on
Tuesday that the Abuja National Stadium may not host matches anytime
soon. The stadium was announced early in the year as likely venue for the
last match of the team in the qualifying series.
He said it was the prerogative of the Nigeria Football Federation to
decide which venue the Super Eagles games would hold.
“And as a matter of fact I don’t think it is even necessary to change
their venue at this stage. Since they appear to have established a rhythm
with Calabar I don’t think the NFF would consider using Abuja for now.
“The venue is fine now but I guess we can start with other games and
later fixtures for the Eagles,” he said.
And as the build-up to the clash against Nigeria continues, Ethiopia are
considering a warm-up against Ghana or Cameroon as part of their
preparation for the match.
Although Ethiopia coach, Sewnet Bishaw, refused to reveal their detailed
programme, an insider in the country’s FA informed MTNFootball.com that
they were planning a warm-up match against Ghana or Cameroon, whom
they consider play a similar brand of football to Nigeria.
The Walya Antelopes began their preparations for the October 13 clash in
Addis Ababa on Tuesday with 24 players drawn from the domestic league,
while four overseas-based professionals including Bidvest Wits of South
Africa striker Getaneh Kebede are expected to join up on October 10.
“We shall start with the home-based players and intensify the training
next week before the foreign-based players join us,” Bishaw said in Addis
Ababa.

[SPORT] 100m World-Record Holder, Usain Bolt offers to train Bale

World-record holder in 100 metre and double Olympic gold medallist Usain
Bolt believes Gareth Bale is the fastest footballer in the world, but says
he can make the Real Madrid winger even quicker.
Despite concerns over his fitness due to a lack of pre-season, the Wales
star clocked an incredible 40kmh during Real Madrid’s draw with Villarreal
in his debut. That is almost 25mph, just 2mph behind Bolt’s world-record
speed.
And Bolt says he will teach Bale how to run even faster if the player and
Real Madrid want him to.
“I think Gareth is probably the fastest player in the world at the
moment – but I will help him with his sprinting if he wants,” Bolt said.
The world’s fastest man added that he trained with Bale’s new team-
mate Cristiano Ronaldo in a session too, and is clearly willing to do the
same for the former Tottenham man.
Bolt said: “It is not just about how fast you can accelerate – but also
when you have the football at your feet about balance while you are
sprinting as well. I helped Ronaldo with his sprinting in a training session
– and look what he has go on to achieve since then.
“I have a lot of respect for Real Madrid – and if they and Gareth want
my help I am happy to fly in and take a private training session with
Gareth. I hear that he has been clocking speeds close to me – but it is
about technique as well.
“I know I could make him an even better player than he already is.”
Bolt, a devoted Manchester United fan, recently spent time with
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero before the weekend’s derby clash
at the Etihad.

Boko Haram Leader, Shekau Isn't Dead - Releases New Video Saying He Is Hale & Hearty - (SEE)

Leader of the most dreaded and wanted Boko Haram
Terrorists, Abubakar Shekau, today, Wednesday, said
the Nigerian Military should bury itself in shame
because he is alive.
Shekau also claimed responsibility of Tuesday, 17th
September, 2013 attacks in Benisheik, Borno State
where over 160 people were either shot dead
or slaughtered and hundreds of houses burnt.

The then Joint Task Force (JTF) spokesman in Borno
State, Lt Col Sagir Musa, had issued a statement on
19th August, 2013 to the effect
that“Intelligence report available to the Joint Task
Force (JTF) Operation Restore Order revealed that
Abubakar Shekau, the most dreaded and wanted
terrorists leader may have died.
“Shekau was mortally wounded in the encounter and
was sneaked into Amitchide-a border community in
Cameroon for treatment from which he
never recovered,” the JTF statement said.
But in the latest video, Shekau who appeared in
military camouflage uniform, seated and surrounded by
hooded insurgents said “Here I am, alive, hale and
hearty.
Sagir Musa should bury himself in shame,
President Jonathan (of Nigeria) should bury himself in
shame, President Obama (of United States of America)
should bury himself in shame, and President Francois
Hollande (of France) should bury himself in shame,
Queen Elizabeth (of England) should bury herself in
shame,” he said.
According to Shekau, “They said I am dead, but here I
am. The world should know that I am alive and will only
die at the appointed time.Everybody should be judged
according to the dictates of his conscience. What I
am doing is written in the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith
and I will not stop. I challenge all the clerics of the
world to question my deeds. Those underrating my
capacity should have a re-think. I will never
allow democracy to thrive.
“The concept of Government of the people by the
people for the people will never be possible and will
never exist. Democracy shall be replaced only by the
government of Allah, from Allah and for Allah,” he
said.
He said the Nigerian military will never subdue his
group. “Nigerian soldiers are late. After killing many of
them in Monguno and Benisheik, we have snatched their
armoured carriers and Hilux van and then
hoisted Islamic flags on them. We now move freely with
them,” he said.

Reasons Yvonne Nelson And Sandra Ankobia Parted Ways

Before now, Yvonne Nelson was very close to the host of Fashion 101,
Sandra Ankobia, the two ladies were always hanging out, traveling and
partying together until their relationship hit the rocks sometime ago,
So many things went down the drain as the two publicly deleted each
other from Instagram.
The reasons they parted ways, according to rumours, has a link with the
girl-to-girl nasty affair. The sexy Ghana actress, Yvonne, was said to
have 'cheated' on Sandra, this infuriated her and deleted her pictures
from her Instagram page.
Though, Yvonne, we gathered, maintain coolness about their break-up,
their love-turned-sour started after both failed to show up at each
other’s big day in April this year.
Yvonne Nelson did not show up at Sandra’s call to the bar, while the
latter was also missing at the premiere of Yvonne’s movie ‘House of Gold’
in which Sandra ironically starred.
“We used to be tight, very close, there wasn’t any argument or fight or
quarreling to warrant such an outcome. “I just don’t hear from her,”
Yvonne maintained.
When being questioned by a reporter about their sour relationship, Yvonne
simply put, "Sandra is a nice person, but she (Yvonne) is focused right
now…and therefore had to “move away”. And she was ask why they
parted away, she said ‘birds of the same feathers flock together’ and
therefore had to distance herself."

'Am A Driver, But I Always Disguise As a Policeman To Get Free Rides' - Criminal Confessess After Being Nabbed.

A 48-year-old man, who was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command
for impersonating a policeman, said he did it to get favours from members
of the public.
The suspect, Felix Braimoh, told policemen at the Special Anti-Robbery
Squad that he usually got free rides from private and commercial drivers
by wearing police uniform.
The suspect, who claimed to be a driver, however, said he never extorted
money from members of the public.
The Edo State indigene said, “I am a driver and I have worked for
several companies. However, after I had a hernia surgery, the company I
was working with decided to sack me. I was given N32,000 and asked to
leave.
“I used part of my savings to set up a barber shop and a music studio.
However, I could not make ends meet as a barber and a deejay and things
became very difficult.”
The suspect told PUNCH Metro that when he could no longer pay his
children’s school fees, he got police accoutrement and started wearing
them to get favours from members of the public.
He said, “I have five children and I could no longer pay their school fees.
One of my friends, who is a mobile policeman gave me an old pair of
trousers. I put it on and then bought a cap and a pair of boots from a
Man O War official.
“Anytime, I’m going out, I enter commercial buses or motorcycles free of
charge. I was saving a lot of money on transport.”
PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect was arrested during the last
environmental sanitation exercise.
It was learnt that he had put on the police cap and boots in order to
avoid being challenged by environmental task force officials.
He said, “On that day, I went to do some work in my shop but on my way
back, around Cele Bridge, I saw a policeman on a motorcycle and I flagged
him down and asked him to give me a lift to Ejigbo. On our way to Ejigbo,
the man asked me where I was serving but I opened up to him and told
him I was not a real policeman.
“The man stopped his ride and we got into an argument. Around that time,
a police patrol vehicle was driving by and the policemen spotted us. I was
arrested and taken to Ikotun Police Division.”
The suspect however pleaded with the police to let him go as he had never
claimed to be a policeman.
“I never used the uniform to extort money. Even after I was arrested,
policemen went to my house and conducted a search. They did not find
anything incriminating,” he said.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Damasus Ozoani, said the
suspect would be charged to court.

'ASUU Strike Will Be Over very soon' - NUC Secretary, Prof. Julius Okojie

Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius
Okojie, says he is confident that the protracted strike by the Academic
Staff Union of Universities will soon be called off.
Okojie, who spoke on Wednesday in Abuja at a meeting with journalists,
said the commission had been doing everything within its powers to ensure
a speedy resolution of the issues raised by ASUU so that students could
return school.
He said, “We are part of the system and we understand the issues, we
are meeting with members of the union all the time and the issues are
being tackled.
“So, we are optimistic that the strike will soon be called off and our
children can go back to school in the shortest possible time.”
The NUC boss also reacted to the call by ASUU for NUC to be scrapped,
saying “the call is not in good faith as the commission has not gone to
sleep over its duties.”
Also speaking on the recurrent disagreement between the commission
and some professional bodies over accreditation and running of certain
courses by some universities, Okojie acknowledged that there were issues
that needed to be resolved between both parties.
“There is no country in the world where regulatory bodies and professional
bodies go to regulate at the same time. So, it is true we are having
problems with professional bodies in carrying out our mandate, but the
issues too will soon be resolved and we can move on,” he said.
The Executive Secretary, who said that the commission had closed many
faculties found to be unfit to run courses in certain universities, admitted
that, “it is not easy to be a regulator.”

26-yr-old Sentenced To Death By Hanging For Robbery and Rape.

FOR robbing a couple at gunpoint and raping their teenage
daughter, a Delta High Court sitting in Warri, yesterday, sentenced a 26-
year-old furniture maker, Chijioke Ede, to death by hanging.
The condemned armed robber and rapist was arraigned on a three-count
charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery and rape
before the court presided over by Justice Marshall Mukoro.
He was found guilty on all the charges and sentenced to death on count
one and two, while he got life imprisonment on the charge of rape.
Prosecution from Delta State Ministry of Justice had told the court that
Chijioke, from Enugu State, with another person still at large, on or about
October 12, 2009, at Okoro Street, Warri, off Marine Gate, within the
Warri Judicial Division, robbed his victims of a DVD player, a laptop
computer, cash, jewelries and other valuables at gunpoint and also raped
their teenage daughter.
The convict was arrested by the vigilante group in the area as his gang
made to escape with their loot.
Justice Mukoro held: “With the avalanche of facts and evidences before
this court, for the accused to say he was not involved in the crime is
laughable and an afterthought.
“For the court to hold the evidence of the accused will amount to denial
of justice, thereby bringing the bar and the bench to disrepute.
“I hereby uphold the evidence of prosecution as all the ingredients of the
offence have been proved beyond reasonable doubt and sentence the
accused to death by hanging on count one and two.”

No Nigerian died in Kenyan attacks – Envoy

Nigerians in Kenya were fortunate to escape the weekend attack by
terrorists on Westgate Mall in Nairobi Kenya, it was learnt on Wednesday.
Al-Shabab terrorists from Somalia had claimed responsibility for the
attack in which no fewer than 62 people had been confirmed dead on
Tuesday.
In a teleconference in Abuja on Wednesday, the Nigerian High
Commissioner to Kenya, Akin Oyateru, who spoke from Nairobi said
Nigerians in Kenya were having a meeting at a nearby hotel during the
attack.
He described the attack as “a tragic incident” which should be condemned
by all nations.
He said, “On that particular day, we had a pan-Nigerian meeting at one
of the hotels in the city centre, therefore a large percentage of our
people were at that location. On hearing the news, we tried to secure them
as best as possible by beefing up security around them before they left
for home.”
Oyateru, who put the unofficial figure of Nigerians living in Kenya at
about 2,500, however, said, “No Nigerian was affected or suffered any
casualty or injuries.
“I can confirm to you that we are all safe in Nairobi and fortunately, no
Nigerian was affected in the attack. But our heart goes to the bereaved
families and we wish the injured ones a very quick recovery.
“We have been to the rescue centre, we went through the list and we
found no Nigerian name on the list of the dead or the injured,” he added.
Backing the position of Kenyan government not to withdraw its troop
from the African Union Mission in Somalia as demanded by terrorist from
Somalia, Oyateru said Nigeria would maintain its police contingent in
Somali.
Meanwhile, Samantha Lewthwaite, the British widow known as “White
Widow” accused of masterminding the despicable terrorist attack on
Kenyan shopping mall was in Nigeria and evaded detection, according to a
report in the Daily Mirror, UK based newspaper.
Nigeria Communications Week could not independently confirm the Daily
Mirror’s claim as at the time of filing this report.
The Mirror’s report was however typical of reporting Africa in Western
media style, complete with maligning words and aspersions on Nigeria’s
security system.
According to the Mirror, “In Nigeria, where police forces are notoriously
corrupt, there were reports she (Lewthwaite) was almost caught a while
ago, but she bribed her way out of trouble.”

NUC DISMISSES ASUU’S CLAIM ON ACCREDITATION

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has insisted its accreditation
process is transparent contrary to claims by the Academic Staff Union of
Universities (ASUU).
Executive Secretary of NUC Prof. Julius Okojie while addressing newsmen
in Abuja said professors who conduct accreditation exercises are
nominated by vice-chancellors or Directors of Academic Planning of
various universities and he is personally unaware of their names.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in a release signed by
the University of Ibadan branch chairman of the union, Dr. Olusegun
Ajiboye, called for the scrapping or total overhaul of the National
Universities Commission (NUC).
ASUU, while calling on the National Assembly to beam its searchlight on
the activities of NUC, insisted that the commission has failed to reposition
Nigerian universities as shown by the NEEDS assessment report which
contradicted NUC’s accreditation exercises that gave a clean bill of
health to most universities.
The release titled, ‘Where Okojie got it Wrong’ said that the NUC boss,
Professor Julius Okojie cannot absolve himself from the rot in the
university system by regulating quantity instead of ensuring quality
delivery.
Dr. Ajiboye had accused Professor Okojie of allegedly using his cronies to
embark on accreditation across universities.
But Okojie yesterday said the major challenge the NUC is facing with
regards to accreditation are the professional bodies.
He said it was not the normal practice in developed societies for
professional bodies to go for accreditation of courses after the
regulatory body, adding that the problem would be resolved soon.
He said: “We ask VCs to give us professors. I do not know them or their
names. We have a data bank and we don’t want a professor to go to a
university he has worked in. We also insist that the universities inscribe
their names on the equipment.”
Okojie said in the last eight years the commission has done its best to
regulate the university system and has even challenged administrators to
ensure quality assurance.

ASUU/FG face-off: Private varsities’ VCs call for truce

WORRIED by the protracted industrial action embarked upon by public
university lecturers under the aegis of Academic Staff Union of
Universities (ASUU), Vice-Chancellors of private universities have
expressed concern and sympathy for the affected students, noting that
there was need to end the three-month-old impasse between the Federal
Government and the striking lecturers.
The VCs of Bells University of Technology (BELLSTECH), Prof. Isaac
Adeyemi; Redeemer’s University, Prof. Zachariah Adeyewa; Covenant
University, Prof. Charles Ayo; and Caleb University, Professor Ayodeji
Olukoju, while expressing their discomfort, noted that Nigeria’s educational
system needs strategic planning and restructuring to regain its lost glory
The VC, Redeemer’s University, Prof. Adeyewa, said “some of my children
are also affected by the strike and have been pleading with me to send
them to private varsities because they are tired of staying at home. In
fact, I want to appreciate parents who are sending their children to
private varsities because they are making a lot of sacrifices. I would have
loved all my children to attend private varsities but I can’t afford the
tuition fees.
“We are not happy that some of our children are becoming grand-parents
at home because of the ongoing imbroglio between government and ASUU.
The truth is that government and the citizens are not totally committed
as the average parent will want to send his wards to smaller African
countries to acquire education, where they may be lost to foreign
cultures.”
Lamenting the unending industrial action by unions in the country’s public
tertiary institutions, BELLSTECH VC, Adeyemi, said parties going into an
agreement, especially between government and staff unions, should put up
an implementation strategy that must be acknowledged by the parties.
“This way, if there are changes in the agreement due to the evolving
realities of life, both parties must be carried along and be willing to re-
negotiate. We need to have a holistic view of the project called Nigeria
and agreement should be based on current realities of life because no
situation is static. But I insist that there must be constant interaction
and mutual agreement between both parties.
“If government says this is what she can afford now, the next thing is to
agree on an implementation strategy for the balance. However, we
shouldn’t wish away the fact that those in government are also Nigerians
and the good of our education system is their concern. It takes a lot to
fund education and these funds can’t be reared overnight, making
strategic planning necessary to restructure our education system.
Similarly, the VC, Covenant University, Prof. Ayo reiterated the need for
a state of emergency to be declared in the education sector.
“It’s unfortunate that public varsities have been shut-down for over two
months, especially at a time when access to and quality of education in
the country are low. ASUU should not be totally blamed for standing their
grounds, because government needs to show more commitment to
education.
“The pertinent question we should ask is- are we able to separate
adequate funding of education and quality because with our paltry
percentage of annual budgetary allocation less than 10 per cent compared
to countries like Ghana, South-Africa, our standards will continue to
dwindle. This calls for the need for a state of emergency in the nation’s
educational system.”
On his part, the VC, Caleb University, Professor Olukoju, charged
government to prioritize funding of education, which is a critical sector of
the economy.
“Funding of education is the core issue here but government isn’t keeping
an agreement that wasn’t signed under duress. This whole situation is like
when someone buys goods on credit and can’t pay on the date he promised
to pay.
“I will suggest that government focuses on funding education rather than
spending frivolously of things that don’t contribute to the economy as
education.
On the way forward BELLSTECH VC called on FG/ASUU to device a way
to end this protracted impasse, saying “if government can’t sustain
education at tertiary level, it must declare its position without wasting
time because it takes more than just giving peanuts as funds to
education.”
Covenant University VC urged ASUU and government to arrive at a
compromise and see how they can utilize the available funds disbursed to
the sector. If the desirable is not available, the available becomes
desirable.

Jonathan ineligible to run in 2015 – New PDP

The leadership of the New Peoples Democratic Party has said that
President Goodluck Jonathan is not qualified to seek reelection in 2015.
The reasons why he cannot contest, according to the group, are: The 1999
Constitution, an agreement the President entered into and his open
statement in Turkey in 2011.
The President had on Monday said that the 1999 Constitution allowed
him to be in office for a maximum of eight years.
He had said, “Already, we have a constitution that makes provision for
maximum of eight years for anyone who wants to become a President or a
governor.
“There is no President or governor that all citizens vote for but at the
end of the election, if somebody emerges, you must allow the person to
work.
“If you love your country, you would want your country to work. That does
not mean that you will not vote against the person if you don’t like the
way he works, but you must allow him to work.”
But the New PDP, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary,
Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, warned that Jonathan’s second term ambition
was not in the best interest of the country.
“After reviewing the state of the nation and the pulse of Nigerians, we
wish to advise President Jonathan to abandon his plan to seek re-election
in 2015 as this is not in the best interest of the country,” it added.
Admitting that the President had yet to categorically declare his
intention to run, the New PDP said he had given enough clues that he
would do so.
The statement reads, “We are worried that Mr. President is intent on
running despite his earlier promise not to do so and in spite of the wise
counsel of well-meaning Nigerians, including respected elder statesmen.
“In February, 2011 while interacting with Nigerians and diplomats working
in the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the African
Union in Ankara, Turkey, President Jonathan clearly stated ‘I would have
loved that the Nigerians in the Diaspora vote this year (2011) but to be
frank with you, that is going to be difficult now.
‘Presently, the law does not allow the voting outside Nigeria and so this
year, Nigerians in Diaspora will not vote but I will work towards it by 2015
even though I will not be running for election.’
“Mr. President went ahead to add, ‘Four years is enough for anyone in
power to make significant improvement and if I can’t improve on power
within this period, it then means I cannot do anything even if I am there
for the next four years.’
“This is a historical fact which Mr. President himself cannot deny now
since he had two years to deny that statement but never did so.”
It asked the President how he would want Nigerians and the entire world
to see him if he eventually makes a U-Turn.
“Why can he not keep his words as a man of honour instead of allowing
himself to be misled by selfish advisers to go back on his words, thereby
overheating the polity?”
The faction called on the President to heed the advice of well-meaning
personalities such as Prof. Ben Nwabueze (SAN) and Archbishop Emeritus
of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie,
all of whom had advised him to correctly read the handwriting on the
wall and stay away from the 2015 presidential race.
While saying that by 2015, Jonathan would have been in office for six
years, it added that this was enough time for him to achieve whatever he
planned for Nigeria.
It said, “What else is he looking for that is making him desperate to
participate in the 2015 presidential election despite warnings that doing so
may spark a chain of events capable of culminating into the country’s
disintegration thereby bringing to pass the predictions of Lord Lugard
that Nigeria as a nation by 2014 maybe history, which was later
confirmed by the USA Think-Tank that Nigeria may disintegrate by 2015.

The group , therefore, appealed to the President “to abandon this ill-
advised move and save our nation from catastrophe.” It added that God
has been merciful to him by lifting him from being a university teacher to
a President
“We urge you Mr. President to listen to the voice of reason and avoid
over-stretching your good luck. A word is enough for the wise,” the New
PDP added.
Before the statement, Eze had told one of our correspondents on the
telephone in Abuja, that going by the 1999 Constitution, the President
was not qualified to run in 2015.
He said, “Our position is that he is not qualified to run in 2015 because
by that time, he would have been in office for six years.
“If he runs in 2015 and rigmaroles himself to power, he would be in office
for 10 years by 2019 and the Constitution does not allow that.
“The President knows this and this was the reason he said in New York
that the constitution allows him and the governors to spend eight years
and not 10 years as he is plotting now.”
Eze claimed that some New PDP members were in possession of a
document where the President promised not to run in 2015.
“We have fact and figures that the President promised not to run come
2015. At the appropriate time, we will release the document. Let him
continue to make noise,” he added.
Eze said if the President could not honour an agreement he willingly made
with people without coercion, it would be difficult to take him seriously.
The Presidency however vowed on Tuesday that nobody or group of
individuals, including the New PDP, was capable of stopping Jonathan if
he decided to contest the 2015 election.
Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, said
unrealisable ambition had blinded members of the New PDP to the extent
that they were no longer aware that Nigeria was governed by law.
He said, “The Abubakar Baraje group (New PDP) is an outlaw as far as
the law of this country is concerned. The country is governed by law.
“As far as I am concerned, there is no political crisis in the country. It is
a group of few people with unrealisable ambitions that are blinded to the
fact that there is a Constitution and there is the Electoral Act.
“These people, supported by the media, are the ones making a storm out
of a tea cup.
“When we reach the bridge, we will cross it. But I will continue to say that
nobody or group of individuals, be it the Baraje group or not, can stop
Mr. President from contesting 2015 election if he resolves to do so.
“Stopping him is abridging his constitutional right and it is illegal.”
Also, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Bamanga Tukur-led
PDP, Mr. Ibrahim Jalo, said that it was wrong to equate what the
President said in New York to mean a declaration of intent to run in 2015.
He said, “The President has not said he is running in 2015 even though it
is his right to do so. The President said the constitution allows him to run
for second term; that is correct.
“But let me say that the President still stands by his statement that he
would let Nigerians know if he would be running for second term or not,
by 2014.
“Nigerians, especially journalists, should allow the ongoing peace talks(in
the PDP) to work out. We should stop misinterpreting the President.”

Afrocandy ~ “I Dont Do Porn!”, “I Am Trying Achieve A Secured future For My Daughters”

AfroCandy has said she is not into pornography, her movies are not
porn but rather, adult movies.
Speaking in a recent interview, the Nigerian movie star and mother
of two who is based in America recounts how her husband dumped
her and her daughters, and she also spoke about her offer of a
movie role to BBA finalist, Beverly Osu.
See excerpts from the interview:
Why did you go into pornographic movies?
I did not go into pornographic movies. I reiterate that I am not into
pornography and it seems the press and Nigerians are really
wishing I did. I started doing regular movies with some sort of
nudity or adult content but they kept saying porn, and calling me a
porn star. I have cleared the air several times in my interviews but
I don’t think you guys get it all. Do you call Hollywood movies they
show on HBO pornographic? Do you call movies like Basic Instinct,
Monster Ball, Savages and so on pornographic? I guess it’s because I
am a Nigerian, that’s why. Anyway, since you guys can’t get it, I will
just do a hardcore pornography so you can all get off by back.
Can you pose nude for a magazine?
Yes, I can pose nude for a magazine 200%.
What are you trying to actually achieve with your porn
movies?
OK, well, if you still call them porn movies, they are not. And I am
trying achieve success, money, fame and a secured future for my
daughters.
Your ex-husband said he came to Nigeria to marry a hooker.
How do you feel about that?
Well, I wouldn’t care about what a disgruntled ex-husband is going
about saying. I am not a ‘hooker.’ I have not hooked up with his
father, his brothers or anybody he knows before. Every allegation
against me is false, merely based on assumptions and hearsay. I
guess you should be asking me how I manage to single handedly
raise the children he abandoned me with since 2007. When he
abandoned us, he went to Nigeria and sold the home I struggled to
build for us. If he had any conscience, he should be praying for me,
not trying to pull me down.
As a matter of fact, he has not spent a dime on raising the children
since 2007. Fact is, I have moved on and I’m focusing on my career
and raising my kids. I guess it’s time to put this nonsense to a stop.
And to you press, this is the last time I will entertain any questions
that has to do with my ex or broken marriage. An ex is an ex, so
please, leave it where it belongs. Thank you!
How do you feel that Beverly Osu has refused your offer of a
role in your controversial movies?
Fact is, I wasn’t even serious about the so-called offer, I was just
mocking her, and if you read my post, it was rather sarcastic. I
didn’t expect it to go viral and how could anybody even take that
serious?
